My Autobiography (paragraph)

I recently got asked the question, “if someone wrote a bio about you, what would the opening paragraph be?” Of course I tried not to make it too serious and I had fun with it…check it out:

Jennifer’s creative motivations began with Inspector Gadget. Yes, the 80's animated television show. She wanted to be Penny, Inspector Gadget’s niece. Smart and resourceful, she was Gadget’s right hand man...or should we say strong female lead. She was always there to lend a hand, get out of a sticky spot, and get creative. Plus, she had that awesome book computer! Jennifer replicated the book by making “pages” out of tinfoil and using a pencil to press buttons into the foil. She ran around her backyard for HOURS as a kid, with her tinfoil book, role playing and saving the day. Every now and again, Jennifer will secretly talk into her Apple watch imagining she is, once again, Penny.

The look of determination…

The look of determination…

My biggest takeaway: this tinfoil book I made was probably my favorite childhood memory.

I’m Jen, I run a design studio and I have a goods line called Curio House where I make curious gifts for curious people. Have you ever wondered why kids love a simple cardboard box rather than the gift inside it? It’s because it allows them to transport themselves into a world of imagination, play and possibilities; it engages their curiosity. I think, as adults, we need to engage our curiosity every day. What makes you curious? What sparks your giftees' imaginations? The answers are important and are at the heart of great gift-giving.
