I had two main goals when I started this project. #1 - I wanted to make something with a perf! One could argue that a perforated edge being torn is more satisfying than popping bubble wrap. #2 - I wanted to create something that had a very retro feel to it. Recreating the nostalgic mini cards you gave away at school was a perfect fit for a Valentine’s Day project. I specifically wanted to make the cards on a sheet so the purchaser would have to rip the perf themselves (because that’s the best part!) I made the edge on all four sides of the cards, so it was consistent all the way around each individual card. The 8-packs were designed with sporty and cute themes. Each card come with an old-school glassine bag and a little heart sticker that I kiss-cut and individually perforated. I choose French Paper Company’s Dur-o-tone line for the paper to give it that aged-feel. Additionally, I made single cards with adult-themed puns. They were a big hit on Etsy.
